What is MakeBox?

MakeBox is a curated monthly box of creative projects delivered to your door. Each month a new themed box is available and contains a selection of projects with all the necessary materials needed to complete them. Whether you are a beginner or experienced maker, you will love your MakeBox!

How does it work?

You can subscribe to the boxes and choose from a term of 1, 3, 6 or 12 months. Subscribers benefit from discounts on the price of the boxes based on the length of the subscription. Alternatively, you can complete a one-off purchase or buy a gift card for someone that you think will love our product. Gift Cards are sent via email.

Can I buy a one-off box?

Absolutely! We realise that you may want to try one of our boxes before committing to a subscription. You may also just want to buy a gift. To do this, you can make a purchase in the shop.

When will I receive my box?

All subscription orders received before the end of the month will be processed for the following months shipment. For example, all orders placed by 31st March will be despatched in the second week of April with delivery expected within two days. Shop orders are despatched within 5 working days after order, with delivery by Royal Mail expected two days after they leave our warehouse.

Will I need to be at home to receive my box?

Yes, or specify a safe place you authorise the package to be left. The size of materials for each project means that your MakeBox won't fit through the letterbox. You can choose where boxes are delivered at the checkout if there is a more suitable option than your home address.

Why should I subscribe?

Our subscribers are sent exclusive discounts on our boxes every month. Longer subscriptions benefit from even better discounts. Subscriptions are super flexible and you can find one to suit your budget and time. You can also customise your subscription at any time (as outlined in the points below), so you never have to worry about getting a box you don't want.

What if I don't like an upcoming box or don't have time next month?

We realise you may not like a particular box (everyone's different!). It may also be that you just don't have time in a given month to complete the projects. In this case, you can simply skip a renewal so you won't get charged and won't receive the box. You can do this by clicking 'edit' on your subscription in your MakeBox account area.

What does 'choose your first box' mean?

New subscribers can select which box they would like to receive to begin their subscription – you are selecting your first box that you get 10% off as a new subscriber (using code OFFMYBOX10). This will be instead of the advertised feature box for the coming month.

Can I get a free box with your loyalty program?

Yes! You get points for every purchase, plus a free box for every two friends you successfully refer. Read more about it here.

Did your discount codes change?

You've got a keen eye! Yes they did. As we move forward after the initial impact of COVID, we need to apply all of the learnings we have gained to make sure we continue to improve as a business. We're investing further in our team and products, and to support these new initiatives we needed to change the introductory codes for new customers. You can now get 10% off your first subscription box with code OFFMYBOX10, and 5% off shop boxes when you buy two or more with code SHOPBOX5. Plus we will have special promotions from time-to-time, so subscribe to our mailing list to be in the know.

How did you deal with COVID-19? 

We acquired more warehouse space, ensured all our packers were safe, and implemented strict health procedures. You can ready more about it here.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Of course – we'd hate to see you go, but understand people change their minds! You can cancel a monthly subscription anytime after the first box ships. Please do this at least 24 hours before automatic renewal on the 11th of each month. Gift subscriptions (3-, 6-, 12- month terms) are not eligible for cancellation – they will expire after the original term is complete. Auto-renewing subscription terms (pay every 1, 3, 6 or 12 months) can be turned “off” at any time – meaning the subscription will expire at the end of your term. Auto-renewing subscriptions cannot be canceled mid-term. To change any of these settings simply log into your account page and follow the cancellation instructions.
